Altrum cup awards

The Project

Since 2017, Altrum host the yearly Altrum Cup charity football (soccer) tournament. The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for United Way, which goes towards a fund to build libraries in underprivileged elementary schools in London. To celebrate the winners, a grand award, worthy of the company’s craftsmanship, is a must.

The Inspiration

The main inspiration is the World Cup trophy, a tall, golden statue crowned with a football. The idea is to take a modern twist on this iconic design, using a mix of premium materials, and promote the partnership with United Way.

The first step is to select the best technique to create a custom football, raised up on a star-shaped pedestal. 3D printing is the ideal solution as the technique can be customized in infinite ways, and can easily take any color with the right airbrush painting equipment. The black base is made of a glossy solid stone blend for a touch of sophistication, and the bottom platforms are aluminium for added weight and shine. Each plaque prominently showcases the United Way’s logo, and matches the colour of the award.

The Results

Each year, the top three teams take their awards back to the office, and United Way makes good use of the amassed funds to help local schools. Thanks to all participants for your generosity and great sportsmanship!
