PEG Bandwidth Success Story, Kari Jansen

PEG Bandwidth approached us with a project recently, and they wanted to create a unique, personal gift to commemorate the opening of their 500th cellular tower site, which was a huge milestone for the company.

Their initial thought was to make a replica of one of their cellular sites, and we explained the options for creating a piece like this.  Molds for 3D designs can be quite expensive, but using a pre-existing pewter mold can save thousands of dollars on the setup fee while providing a highly custom, really impressive gift that looks as if it was made only for you.  Because we have done many cellular tower designs in the past, our pewter factories have molds available in several different sizes and styles.

We sent the client photos of some towers we have done in the past, and the client chose to slightly modify one of them to better resemble their site.  The effect was a beautiful, 3D commemorative gift that everyone loved, at a price that pleased the client. After receiving the initial order the client was so pleased that they called back to place another order for more pieces.

Keurig Project Success Story, Mark Gorham

Keurig contacted us to design awards for an upcoming event. They wanted to incorporate one of their actual machines into the design but have the award remain classic and elegant.

We knew the best way to do this would be to use a custom resin mold and create a 3D replica of their machine. We sketched up several options and sent the clients designs, which they loved, and decided to move forward with the order.

There were several major challenges however. First, the client’s budget would not allow us to make a custom mold made from scratch but we were able to use a similar coffee machine mold and adopt it to their particular model. Second, the timing was too tight to produce both a sample and full order so we used our 3D rending software to send proof that allowed the client to view the piece in full 360 degrees. And the third challenge, the factory that makes our custom resin pieces does not produce the special base and chrome plate the client requested. We produced the bases and plates at one of our partner factories and had them shipped to our factory be assembled.

With the logistics were in place, production went smoothly, and we were able to ship the pieces 2 days early, saving the client the overnight shipping costs. The client received the awards on time and reported back to us that they were a big hit at their event.
